Enjoy moments together
Dogs are a positive influence not only in their owner’s lives, but also for all the people around them. Does it mean we should enjoy the company of our four-legged friends at work? If you want to know, whether or not a dog in the office is a good idea, here is where we dispel your doubts.
Dogs are sociable by nature. They are not happy to see their owners gone for work every morning. They are also not looking forward to spending all those hours alone. Five days a week at that.
Is there any way to spend more time with our dogs? More and more company owners in Poland thinks so, encouraging their employees to come to the office with their furry friends. Results? Astounding!
According to the study conducted by Sandra McCune, who spent almost a decade studying human-animal interactions, having a pet at a workplace has a positive impact on stress levels, blood pressure and cardiac health in the employees. Having pets as a company people are more productive and less prone to anger.
The report published in 2016 by Pet-Friendly Workplace PAWrometer indicates that 82% of the employees are more loyal to their employer, if they can take their dog to work. Even as much as 79% of the responders admitted that a dog in their workplace helps them to maintain healthy relationships with their co-workers.
An office, as every other space, needs some preparation before welcoming this special guest. Aside from basic equipment such as food and water bowls or a dog bed, ready for your dog to rest when their work responsibilities become too much, you should also take their favourite toy. The smell of this familiar object will help your dog to adjust and feel comfortable. It is also necessary to introduce the dog to each and every of your co-workers. This “familiarising” will help in reducing the risk of experiencing introductory shock and allow everyone to enjoy your dog’s company.
